How prayer times in Dhaka are calculated
Prayer times for Dhaka are calculated astronomically for the coordinates of the city with the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon). Asr begins when the shadow of an object is twice its length, as in the Hanafi school. Mosques in Bangladesh use the Karachi method and the Hanafi school, which gives a later Asr time.
